Late Shri Jaidutt Vaila, freedom fighter, Government Postgraduate College, Ranikhet, Almora (Uttarakhand) began its operations in 1973 as a small campus in the lush green meadows of Ranikhet, a hilly region and cantonment town in Almora district. Ranikhet is currently the regimental headquarters of the Kumaon Regiment (KRC) and the Naga Regiment.
