About SC/ST Cell
The SC and ST Cell has been constituted as per the directions of the Government to address various
problems and concerns of SC and ST students related to admission, examination, scholarship and other
issues. A library has been set up for SC and ST students under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan of the
Government of Uttarakhand, and coaching classes are also available for remedial and competitive
examinations. At present, the library has around 1365 books, which cater to the needs of these students in
preparation for various competitive exams like Civil Services, Defence Services, UPSC Exams (State
Public Service Commission), NDA, CDS, NET/SLET, etc. In addition, subject experts mainly from the
teaching faculty of the college are invited to deliver lectures on topics relevant to the present times, and
various administrative officers are invited to deliver lectures through online medium from time to time to
motivate the students. To avail all these benefits, SC and ST students will have to register online or offline.
The scheme was started in the college in 2016-17, in which 55 students had registered. This figure has
fluctuated in the following years. For example, the following table shows the number of students

After the COVID-19 pandemic, these classes are being conducted online for students. Moreover, the
college conducts core subject classes daily from 10 am to 4:40 pm, which is why these special classes for
SC/ST students are conducted online in the evening after college hours. In addition, detailed information
about various scholarships offered by the State and Central Governments to SC/ST students studying in
the college is provided from time to time.

Aims and Objectives
- To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues
of college life effectively.
- To provide prompt counselling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any event
at the college.
- To provide the mechanism to redress the grievance of SC/ST students, if any
- To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India.
- To arrange for special opportunities to enhance the carrier growth.
- To aware the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships program of State Govt./Central
govt. and UGC etc.
